There is a language of camera positioning. If the camera looks down on you it diminishes you, it make you look small. 

If the camera is low and looks up to you, it makes you look important.

It’s that simple.

Worse, forcing you to look up to the camera makes you look eager, wanting. The exact opposite of confident.

Look at the photo below from Shutterstock. It’s friendly and smiliing. The high angle makes it a terrible idea for a professional portrait.

You want to look confident, not wanting. You want to look important and established, not eager.
