Far from it. I am 55 now and 3 decades have gone in which I had great changes in my life and I don’t have professional photos of me done. It’s so typical (Doctor, cure yourself) and that’s one of the reasons why I started making portraits. Our life is just a blink in the course of history and in a matter of a few years our looks change. Once those years are gone, they are gone forever.
The Power Of A Professional Photographer
While we all have a great camera in our pocket, our phones, there are no great photos of people in there. The camera is not what makes a portrait. The tool is not the photographer. Look at writing. For most of human history, the tools to write a great book have been available to most people. All you need is paper and a pen. It’s not expensive to be a writer. Before computers, the typewriter was easily affordable to anyone who had a job. But not everybody can be a John Grisham, J.K. Rowling, or Stephen King. The tool doesn’t make the artist.
A phone photo doesn’t render who you are. A candid does not capture the detail of your beauty and strength. An improvised snapshot can’t show your sense of style. A professional photographer creates a portrait collection based on your unique personality and looks. A photographer will design lighting and backdrops that will make you shine and highlight your beauty. Finally, a portrait photographer will help you style your wardrobe for the occasion.
Creating a beautiful collection of portraits is a fantastic way to give yourself, and your family, a treasure that you will cherish forever. When we hold a beautiful printed portrait in our hands we connect with that person, with that moment. And we are thankful that we can do that.
When your children, and their children, will ask to see you at this moment in life, what will they find?
Having a portrait done in your 30s, 40s, 50s, and later is a great way of creating a legacy that will live forever and will give you and your family tremendous joy.
