Do you know what page the visitors of your website click right after they find your website? The “About Me” or “About Us” page. That’s right. If you thought that they would check out your catalog of products and services that you would be mistaken. We now have a very large amount of data collected from websites analytics that confirms that people are most concerned with knowing the persons behind the business.

On the “About Me” page you need to have photos of you and your team. No stock photos, no selfies, no day at the beach or other social gatherings. Your headshot should show you professional, confident, and approachable. The background doesn’t matter, clothing has to be appropriate and should not upstage you, and the photo should show you clearly and with a great expression. Achieving this balance is complex. That’s why you see many headshots with brick backgrounds or other distracting elements. It’s easier to have a fancy background than to obtain a great expression. A good headshot focuses on the subject. If the person has a great expression with a captivating smile then nothing else matters.

You might be tempted to think that you cannot deliver that combination. But that’s where I step into the picture, so to say. I know how to coach you to get the right combination of pose and expression and I will give you the necessary feedback to let you know how you are doing. You will learn how to stand and how to change your expression so that you will look fantastic in your headshot.

Take the photo on this page. Sara is a realtor, not a model or actress. Nevertheless, her expression is fantastic. She is warm, approachable, and professional at the same time.
